D3 Application & Selection Process
how do i apply?
How is my application evaluated?
We review applications to ensure founders and their startups will benefit from D3's programs. Eligibility criteria vary by program, but common elements include:
- Actively building in or expanding to Quebec
- Novel concept with clear potential for real-world application
- Innovative use of technology or research where appropriate
- Team execution capability, either established or actively being built
- Coachability and openness to feedback
- Clear connection between your approach and our thematic sectors
- Relevant experience that positions you to tackle this challenge
- Time commitment to fully participate in the program
What happens after I submit my application?
Your written application will be reviewed by our Applications Panel. Selected teams will be invited to schedule a pitch meeting with the panel to dive deeper into your idea, your traction, and your needs. After the pitch meeting, the panel will assess whether there is a strong fit between your startup and one of our programs, and we will follow up to share the decision.
what language are the programs in?
Our cohort-based programs are primarily delivered in English. As such, professional working proficiency in English is required to participate.
Which program is the right fit for me?
Based on the information from your application, our experts will identify which D3 sector (Healthcare, Social Innovation, Bio, or High Tech) best suits your startup. If you are invited to the second stage of the application process, you will be invited to pitch to a panel of experts from that sector.
This pitch meeting allows our Application Panel to narrow down the best program fit for your current needs. You will hear back from us following your pitch to confirm whether or not you have been accepted into a program.
